Fundamental Principles To Setting Diet Goals For Both Men And Women Who Are Serious About Getting That Perfect Body!
Setting diet
goals or finding good weight loss programs can be a bit daunting due to the
huge amount of diet programs out there. That is why "Diet For Your Goal" was
created, in order to make your decisions easier, but most importantly a wise
one.
My Name is Nelio and I once searched the Internet for
a great diet plan that would transform my skinny body. My goal
was not to lose weight but to actually gain healthy muscular weight. I have all
my life struggled to gain any weight, although I eat a lot of junk food. As a
teenager I was always very skinny and embarrassed of my body. It affected me
quite badly because had I no confidence in myself, the other
kids would tease me, my relationship with girls was non existent and it
pretty much messed my life up.
I eventually took action and headed
to my PC to look up a solution to my thin body and to find a way of setting diet
goals for myself. I bought a few diet plans in a space of three months and
tried a lot of stuff to no avail, although I saw slight gain in weight, but
nothing that anybody noticed. I was not at all satisfied with my results,
so I decided to join the gym. After two months of training I once
again saw very little results. I had really trained hard and put in a lot of
effort, but that didn't seem to help either.
At this point, I started to question myself and
wonder what I was doing wrong. I realized that setting diet goals wasn't as easy
as I initially thought. I was really frustrated and upset at the fact
that I had worked so hard and seen very little results, if any. Then, the one
day I went for an assessment at the gym and the guy that did my tests got
chatting to me and gave me a lot of useful tips based on the results of my
assessment. He told me that the assessment was a crucial part of setting
diet goals and a fundamental part in planning a diet for my
specific goal.
The point he was getting to, was that we are all different and can't all follow
the same diet plan. We need to know ourselves before attempting any diet, the
more we know about our ultimate goals, the easier its going to be
to reach them. We don't all have the same blood type, we don't all want to lose
weight, we don't all want to grow bigger muscles and so on. There are a huge
amount of factors to look into before setting diet goals. That is why, "Diet For
Your Goal" was created to make things easy and simple when deciding on
a diet. Further on, We will show you diets that work for your specific goals.

Here are 5 tips to setting diet goals:
[before trying these tips, remember to talk to your doctor about your diet]
1. Evaluate your current situation.
Ask yourself why your setting diet goals or
why you want to lose weight. Write it down on a journal or record it
on notepad. Plan to read it daily and to refer to it as a motivator when the
going gets tough. Remember your mind plays a important part in achieving your diet goals.
2. Resolve to lose or gain slowly
The reality is losing or gaining weight slowly is healthier and setting diet goals of losing 5 to 10 percent [of your start weight] are achievable. So if you weigh 190 pounds, a reachable target would be to lose 10 to 19 pounds.
3. Set short term goals
Setting diet goals that are short term and registering them in order of importance will help you avoid feeling defeated and let you focus on achieving goals one by one. Instead of focusing on just losing 30 pounds, go for and celebrate that first 3 pound loss. It's always a great sensation and motivation to keep going. Set deadlines to achieve your goals. Include specific dates and times to keep yourself on track and motivated to reach them.
4. Track your progress
Record your successes. Take advantage of online programs and use notepad for example. You see how I mention again that you must keep track, this is very important. Also don't just weigh yourself but also measure your entire body like for example your waist, your biceps, your quads, etc. Sometimes you don't see a decrease in weight because you might be building up muscular weight that weighs more than fat.
5. Stay focused on your long-term
goals
It's OK to think big, but it may mean starting
small and working towards a bigger goal. So if your long-term goal is
losing 45 pounds in a year, for example, maybe your short-term goal is
getting through the day without eating a lot of carbs. Being prepared will save you from discouragement and excuses when you run
into potential roadblocks.
Now that you got these tips on setting diet
goals, remember to eat healthy and exercise. I'm not saying that you must eat
vegetables until you drop or you must run 5 laps around the
city. You should just keep things in moderation. Do a bit of
stretching if that's all you can do and set the weekend for cheating a
little bit when it comes to eating. Dieting doesn't have to be painful. If your
dieting is to harsh, then don't do it. You must be able to feel that it's
enjoyable and easy enough to accomplish in whatever set date you
have.
